Reasons to upgrade your NewTek VT hardware

Until October 15th, 2007, NewTek is offering VT[4] hardware with a free VT[5] software upgrade when it ships.

For anyone with an older VTNT, VT[2] or VT[3] card, even if you pre-paid for the VT[5] software upgrade, you should consider upgrading your older VT card for the VTPRO card. The VTPRO card offers several advantages over older VT cards including four separate audio channels (instead of only two channels) for recording and playback of line or mic level sound plus built-in genlock and a preview bus hardware output.

More significantly, with the VT[5] software upgrade the VTPRO card works with three video inputs channels instead of just the two input channels found with older VT cards. For example, when using the virtual sets capability of the VT[5] software upgrade, with the talent sitting behind a virtual desk in front of a virtual set, the virtual monitor sitting on the desk can show a live video source using the VTPRO card. With an older VT card, you can only use a computer-generated source such as a color gradient, video clip or still store to fill the monitor with.

Having a new VTPRO card will allow more flexibility with the virtual sets support found with VT[5] . . . not to mention having a brand-new card in your system instead of the 4 or 5 year-old card you may already have.

Right now, NewTek will allow you to trade-in your older VT card for a brand-new VTPRO card with the latest VT[4] software. You will also receive the VT[5] software upgrade, with its enhanced chroma-keyer, virtual sets capability with virtual sets included, multiple DSKs, copy of SpeedEDIT plus many other new features, when it ships. List price on the hardware trade-in is $1,995.00. DigiTek Systems will do the trade-in for even less . . . please contact us for our best price.

After Oct. 15th, 2007 you can trade in your older VT card for a VTPRO card with the VT[5] software, but the list price will be $2,495.00. Now is the time to do the trade-in and save $500.00!

For anyone thinking about purchasing the VT[4] LIVE! Bundle, there are several compelling reasons to make your purchase by Oct. 15th. Currently, if you purchase the VT[4] LIVE! Bundle you will receive the VTPRO card with the latest VT[4] software plus a copy of LightWave 8.5, SX-84 breakout box plus the RS-8 external switcher panel for $6,495.00 ($5,995.00 for educators). Plus you will receive the VT[5] software upgrade when it ships.

When it ships, the VT[5] LIVE! Bundle will have the same list price as the VT[4] LIVE! Bundle but won’t include a copy of LightWave 8.5. It also won’t include the RS-8 external switcher panel, a $995.00 value. You can purchase a standalone copy of LightWave to work with your VT[5] but it will cost you another $495.00. In effect, the VT[5] LIVE! will cost you another $1,500.00 to get the same capabilities of the VT[4] LIVE! Bundle which will ultimately include the VT[5] software when it ships.

Even better, you can run both the VT[4] and VT[5] software on the same PC, allowing you to run LightWave on the system (remember, the VT[5] LIVE! Bundle doesn’t include a copy of LightWave).

Again, now is the time to purchase a VT[4] LIVE! bundle and save some money. Feel free to contact Matt Drabick of DigiTek Systems at mdrabick@mindspring.com or 919-790-5488 with any questions you may have or for our best price.

For those of you already with a VTPRO card and the VT[4] software, please note you can purchase the VT[5] software upgrade with a copy of LightWave 8.5 for only $595.00 until Oct. 15th, 2007. After that date, the upgrade increases to $1,495.00 and doesn’t include a copy of LightWave. Questions or our best price? Please contact us ASAP. . . .
