*** Reasons to upgrade to the VTPRO card versus older VT cards . . . .
In general:
Built-in Genlock
Four Channels of Separate Audio In/Out with unity gain so signals remain strong, and floating-point audio doesn't distort
Up to four Mic Inputs
Up to four Balanced Line Audio Inputs
Tally Light Support
Hardware Preview Output (use an NTSC video monitor for the preview channel!)
CG Support with Hardware Alpha Out (use the VT[4] as an upstream key source with other video equipment)
Specifically for the VT[5] software upgrade:
The newer VTPro card works with three streams of video at the same time . . . the older VT cards (VTNT, VT2 or VT3) only work with two streams of video.
With the VT[5] software upgrade, when working with virtual sets, because of the third video channel found with the VTPro card, if you have a video monitor built into the virtual set you can insert a live video camera feed into the monitor . . . you can't do that with the older VT cards.
Another reason to trade-in your older card for a new card. . . you’re getting a brand-new card to use, instead of continuing to use an older card that may be 5, 6 or 7 years old!
