The Atomos Shogun Inferno

The Atomos Shogun Inferno

Atomos sells a variety of popular 4K video recording and monitoring solutions for portable and studio use. The Sumo models have a 19-inch display while the Shogun and Ninja models have 7-inch displays. All three types can be powered by AC or batteries, allowing for portable recording in the field. The dual 7-inch monitor Shogun Studio only runs with AC power and is better suited for studio use. All four types use high-capacity 2.5-inch SSDs to record and playback with and provide touchscreen controls for recording and playing back video and audio footage. The 5-inch Ninja V monitor/recorder is scheduled to ship in July, 2018 and will use standard SSDs to record and playback files with. All of the Atomos recording units save either Apple ProRes or Avid DNx files. Recently Apple ProRes RAW support was added to the Shogun Inferno and Sumo recorders, allowing for pristine camera footage with high bit-depth to be recorded directly to disk.
